History
Traditional Turkish Arts is the general name of the arts and types of Turkish culture. Tile, calligraphy, illumination, miniature and marbling are the most important of these arts, which date back to before Islam and continued their development with Islam. Iğdır University Faculty of Fine Arts was established on 14.11.2011 with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2011/2471. In the fall semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, student applications were accepted for the first time. With its undergraduate and postgraduate education, the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts is taking firm steps towards becoming an educational institution where artists who have a say in their field will be trained with its newly established workshops and expert teaching staff.
